Level-30 beta Smite Priest build
Level-30 Holy damage and support · 5 / 16 / 0 · 21 standard talent points. Reviewed 13 October 2026.
Five Discipline points add Power in Light to a 16-point Holy casting foundation. Keep Holy Fire on the target to support Smite damage, with Divine Fury and Twilight Focus helping the casting routine. The split deliberately gives up Binding Heal and some Holy utility for conditional offensive support.
Beta talent allocation: 5/16/0
Discipline: 5 points
| Talent | Rank | Effect at this rank |
|---|---|---|
| | 5/5 | Your Smite and Penance spells deal 10% increased damage to targets afflicted with your Holy Fire. |
Holy: 16 points
| Talent | Rank | Effect at this rank |
|---|---|---|
| | 3/3 | Gives you a 70% chance to avoid interruption caused by damage while casting any spell. |
| | 5/5 | Increases the critical effect chance of your Holy spells by 5%. |
| | 5/5 | Reduces the casting time of your Smite, Holy Fire, Heal, and Greater Heal spells by 0.5 sec. |
| | 1/1 | Causes an explosion of holy light around the caster, causing 26 to 30 Holy damage to all enemy targets within 10 yards and healing all party members within 10 yards for 49 to 57. These effects cause no threat. |
| | 1/3 | Your non-periodic critical heals increase your target's Armor by 8% for 15 sec. |
| | 1/2 | Increases your Holy damage done by 2%, and gives a 5% chance each time your Holy Fire spell deals periodic damage for your next Holy Nova to cost no Mana. |
How to play this beta version
- Use Holy Fire on a target that will survive its periodic effect, then cast Smite while that effect remains active.
- Use Holy Nova when several nearby enemies can safely take damage and react to a Searing Light free-cast opportunity.
- Switch to an appropriate trained heal when the group needs recovery; this split does not have Binding Heal.
What changes from the 51-point build?
- Power Infusion is not available to this allocation.
- Binding Heal, Holy Reach and Litany of Light are not selected; Searing Light is at one rank.
The deeper Holy alternative restores Binding Heal, full Searing Light, range and Litany of Light. It suits support-heavy play or targets where Holy Fire cannot remain active.
Why this beta talent split?
Power in Light rewards keeping Holy Fire active before Smite. Shadow Spirit Tap helps after kills rather than increasing the same Holy damage window. The deeper Holy alternative is better suited to frequent healing switches and targets that deny Holy Fire uptime.

How to play Smite Priest
Apply Holy Fire, then use Smite while the target remains affected to benefit from Power in Light. Reapply Holy Fire when it is worthwhile for the remaining fight duration. Watch for Searing Light's free Holy Nova opportunity, and use it only when nearby damage or healing is useful. Keep enough Mana for agreed emergency healing. This Holy-focused allocation does not reach Power Infusion or Penance.

Why Smite Priest takes these talents
Divine Fury is required for Searing Light. Searing Light raises Holy damage and gives Holy Fire periodic damage a chance to make the next Holy Nova free; it is not a crit-damage talent. Power in Light is maxed to support Smite against Holy Fire targets, and Holy Precision improves Holy spell hit chance. Litany of Light rewards alternating healing spells, so its value is in off-healing rather than the DPS loop.
