WoW Forever Tier List: Best Classes for Leveling, PvE & PvP
Wondering which class to pick? All nine WoW Forever classes are ranked for leveling, solo play, dungeons, raids, and PvP. It is built from beta talent info, datamined changes and community testing. The game is still in beta, so treat every tier as a projection. Final balance will only show after launch in early November 2026.
The short answer
No class is unplayable in WoW Forever. Every class can clear the same content. If you want one safe pick without reading further: choose Hunter for the easiest leveling, Mage for the strongest all-rounder, Priest if you want groups to come to you, and Rogue or Warlock for PvP.
The right class still depends on what you enjoy. The tables further down match a class to the part of the game you care about. If you are still torn after that, open the class picker.
The tier list at a glance
One image-style summary of the overall ranking, like the tier grids people share on social media. It is a rough all-round call only. The per-activity tables further down have the detail that matters.
Beta projection, last reviewed 23 September 2026. Tiers only compare overall strength. Every class clears the same content.
Leveling tier list
How fast and smoothly each class reaches 60: kill speed, downtime, travel and surviving bad pulls.
| Tier | Classes | Why |
|---|---|---|
| S | Hunter, Mage, Warlock, Druid | Pets, portals, free food and strong self healing cut downtime to almost nothing. |
| A | Paladin, Shaman, Priest, Rogue | Steady and safe levelers. They kill reliably, just a step slower than the top row. |
| B | Warrior | Leans on gear and weapons more than any other class, so the early levels feel rougher. |
Solo play tier list
How independent each class is at max level: handling elites, world content and farming without a group.
| Tier | Classes | Why |
|---|---|---|
| S | Hunter, Warlock, Druid, Mage | Pets, strong self healing and escapes handle elites and bad pulls alone. |
| A | Paladin, Priest, Rogue, Shaman | Can take on hard world content, but need more care and better gear. |
| B | Warrior | Tough and deadly once geared, but no pet and no heal makes solo elites harder. |
Dungeons and raids tier list
Group value in 5-player dungeons and 10 or 20-player raids: healing, tanking, damage, crowd control and utility.
| Tier | Classes | Why |
|---|---|---|
| S | Priest, Warrior, Paladin, Mage | Cover the core group jobs: top-tier healing, tanking, control and ranged damage. |
| A | Shaman, Druid, Warlock, Rogue, Hunter | Wanted in groups with strong utility. The final damage order is still unconfirmed. |
PvP tier list
Overall PvP usefulness across duels, world PvP and battlegrounds: burst, control, mobility and survival.
| Tier | Classes | Why |
|---|---|---|
| S | Mage, Rogue, Warlock, Priest | Control, burst and survival that decide fights before they start. |
| A | Warrior, Hunter, Shaman, Druid, Paladin | Dangerous with the right opener or team support, but less self-sufficient. |
How to use this tier list
Think of these tiers as a shortlist builder, not a final answer. A simple way to use them:
- Find the table for the part of the game you care about most.
- Take two or three classes from the top tiers and check how they actually play before you decide.
- Open the talent calculator for your pick and test a build before you commit.
- Start from a proven setup on the starter builds page instead of spending points blind.
Skill beats tiers. A good player on an A-tier class will always beat a bad player on an S-tier class.
Why these tiers will change
Three honest reasons not to treat any beta ranking as final:
- The game is in beta. Balance numbers are still being tuned, and tuning patches move classes between tiers.
- No level 60 data yet. Raid testing at max level has barely started, so endgame rankings are educated guesses.
- Beta bugs distort results. The known-issues list includes class bugs (pet stats, glancing blows, spell behavior) that make some classes look better or worse than they really are.

WoW Forever tier list FAQs
What is the best class for beginners in WoW Forever?
Hunter or Warlock. A pet holds the enemy while you learn the game, which makes the early levels forgiving. If you would rather have groups come to you, pick Priest for healing or Warrior for tanking.
Does the tier list matter before launch?
Only as a rough guide. These tiers are projections from beta info, not final balance. Use them to build a shortlist, then pick the class you actually enjoy playing.
What is the best class for solo play in WoW Forever?
Hunter and Warlock lead, thanks to pets that tank for them. Druid and Mage are close behind with strong self healing and escapes.
What is the best PvP class in WoW Forever?
On paper, Mage, Rogue, Warlock and Priest have the strongest mix of control, burst and survival. In practice, a skilled player on any class beats a weak player on an S-tier class.
Is Warrior bad in WoW Forever?
No. Warrior sits lower for leveling because it depends on gear more than other classes. For dungeons and raids it is one of the strongest picks in the game.
Will these rankings change?
Yes. Balance tuning, raid testing and bug fixes will move classes up and down. Last checked on 23 September 2026, and it will be updated as the beta changes.
