NEW in Forever Requires Mind Flay

Improved Mind Flay sits in row 3 of the Priest Shadow tree. A talent tree is simply the grid of talents for one class role, and you will need Mind Flay maxed first. It can take up to 2 points. Max it fully, or put in a few points just to open the rows below.

New in Forever. This talent never existed in Classic, so don't go looking for an old version to compare. There is none.

What Improved Mind Flay does at each rank

A rank is one level of a talent. Every rank makes the effect a bit stronger. The list below uses the exact wording from the beta client, word for word.

  1. Rank 1: Your Mind Flay now deals 10% more damage, gains 5 yards increased range, but slows the target's movement speed by 35%.
  2. Rank 2: Your Mind Flay now deals 20% more damage, gains 10 yards increased range, but slows the target's movement speed by 20%.

How to reach Improved Mind Flay

Row 3 opens after you spend 10 points in the earlier Shadow rows. Level 20 is the earliest you can pick up Improved Mind Flay, and you will need Mind Flay maxed first.

Is Improved Mind Flay worth the points?

Every rank makes the effect stronger, so putting in a few points while leveling is totally fine. Max it when the final rank is the heart of your endgame build. And if you only need it as a stepping stone, no shame in stopping early.
