Level-30 beta Mage Fire PvP build

Level-30 Fire PvP · 0 / 21 / 0 · 21 standard talent points. Reviewed 13 October 2026.

Blast Wave is reachable with the final point and gives close-range damage plus a daze. Heating Up and Pyroblast keep the focus on Fire damage, but this version emphasizes control and positioning rather than every damage talent from the full plan.

Impact Impact2/3Gives your Fire spells a 7% chance to stun the target for 2 sec.

Pyroblast Pyroblast1/1Hurls an immense fiery boulder that causes 101 to 131 Fire damage and an additional 44 Fire damage over 12 sec.
Improved Scorch Improved Scorch3/3Your Scorch spell has a 100% chance to cause your target to be vulnerable to Fire damage. This vulnerability increases all Fire damage you deal to your target by 3% and lasts 30 sec, stacking up to 5 times.
Heating Up Heating Up1/1Non-periodic critical strikes with Fireball, Frostfire Bolt, Fire Blast, and Scorch reduce the cast time of your next Pyroblast cast within 20 sec by 25%, stacking up to 3 times.
Blast Wave Blast Wave1/1A wave of flame radiates outward from the caster, damaging all enemies caught within the blast for 154 to 184 Fire damage, and Dazing them for 50% reduced movement speed for 6 sec.

How to play this beta version

  1. Use Fireball or Scorch when a cast fits, and preserve movement tools when melee pressure approaches.
  2. Use Blast Wave to create space and Fire Blast when immediate damage is useful.
  3. Track Heating Up before committing to Pyroblast; cancel an unsafe long cast rather than taking unnecessary damage.

What changes from the 51-point build?

  • Combustion is a later capstone and is absent.
  • Impact does not proc from Flamestrike's periodic damage after the October correction.

For sustained PvE casting, the Fire dungeon version uses more Ignite, Critical Mass and Mana-return support instead of this control allocation.

Why this beta talent split?

Blast Wave adds a close-range daze and needs 21 Fire points. Frost can add Fire spell hit chance and Arcane can support alternative filler casts, but a five-point dip gives up the active Blast Wave response.

How to play Fire PvP

Use Scorch or Fireball when you can cast safely and monitor Heating Up stacks. Each qualifying crit reduces the next Pyroblast's cast time by 25%, up to three stacks; the result is a faster cast rather than an instant Pyroblast. Use Combustion during a window when you can land Fire spells. Frost Nova can create distance, while Blast Wave dazes nearby enemies; its current tooltip does not describe a knockback.

Why Fire PvP takes these talents

Pyroblast unlocks Heating Up, and Critical Mass unlocks Combustion. Ignite adds damage over time after qualifying Fire crits. Improved Scorch increases your Fire damage against the affected target rather than increasing your crit chance. The Frost investment gives control options but does not reach Ice Block, Cold Snap or Ice Barrier. Plan defensive movement around that trade-off.
