Arcane Shielding
Mage · Arcane · Row 4 of 7 · 2 ranks
Changed from Classic
Arcane Shielding sits in row 4 of the Mage Arcane tree. A talent tree is simply the grid of talents for one class role. It can take up to 2 points. Max it fully, or put in a few points just to open the rows below.
Changed from Classic. This talent now works differently than in Classic, so read the ranks below before you spend any points.
What Arcane Shielding does at each rank
A rank is one level of a talent. Every rank makes the effect a bit stronger. The list below uses the exact wording from the beta client, word for word.
- Rank 1: Decreases the Mana lost per point of damage taken when your Mana Shield spell is active by 17% and increases the resistances granted by your Mage Armor spell by 25%.
- Rank 2: Decreases the Mana lost per point of damage taken when your Mana Shield spell is active by 33% and increases the resistances granted by your Mage Armor spell by 50%.
How to reach Arcane Shielding
Row 4 opens after you spend 15 points in the earlier Arcane rows. Level 25 is the earliest you can pick up Arcane Shielding.
Is Arcane Shielding worth the points?
Every rank makes the effect stronger, so putting in a few points while leveling is totally fine. Max it when the final rank is the heart of your endgame build. And if you only need it as a stepping stone, no shame in stopping early.
