Vanguard sits in row 4 of the Warrior Protection tree. A talent tree is simply the grid of talents for one class role. It costs just one point. So the only question is whether opening its row fits your build.

New in Forever. This talent never existed in Classic, so don't go looking for an old version to compare. There is none.

What Vanguard does at each rank

A rank is one level of a talent. Every rank makes the effect a bit stronger. The list below uses the exact wording from the beta client, word for word.

Rank 1: Your Charge ability is now usable while in Defensive Stance.

How to reach Vanguard

Row 4 opens after you spend 15 points in the earlier Protection rows. Level 25 is the earliest you can pick up Vanguard.

Is Vanguard worth the points?

One point gives you the full effect. The real cost is opening row 4. That is 15 points in the rows above, so take it when the talent suits your build.
