What each rank of Shield Specialization does

Each point buys one rank. Compare the effects below to decide how many points to spend.

  1. Rank 1: Increases the amount of damage absorbed by your shield by 10%, and gives your blocks a 33% chance to restore 4% of your maximum Mana. May only occur once every 3 sec.
  2. Rank 2: Increases the amount of damage absorbed by your shield by 20%, and gives your blocks a 66% chance to restore 4% of your maximum Mana. May only occur once every 3 sec.
  3. Rank 3: Increases the amount of damage absorbed by your shield by 30%, and gives your blocks a 100% chance to restore 4% of your maximum Mana. May only occur once every 3 sec.

How to reach it

Row 3 opens after you spend 10 points in the earlier Protection rows. Level 20 is the earliest you can pick up Shield Specialization, and you will need Redoubt maxed first.

Is Shield Specialization worth the points?

Compare the benefit of another rank with your other talent choices. Take the final rank when it supports your build. You can leave it partially ranked if you do not need the final effect or its dependent talents.
