Warlock Leveling Guide
for WoW Forever (1-60)
Warlock is the class Forever changed the most, with 23 new talents (more than any other class), and one of the best levelers in the game. Your demon tanks, your dots kill, and you drain health back as fast as mobs take it. Downtime is a rumor other classes talk about.
Best Warlock leveling spec
Affliction (21/0/0). Dots, drain-tanking, and a pet: the holy trinity of efficient leveling. You will want to experiment with the 23 new talents as beta builds land. No class has more new toys to test, but the Affliction core of dot, drain, and demon is unchanged.

Warlock key abilities and talents
- Your demon: Voidwalker early for tanking, Succubus later for damage. Keep it alive; a dead pet means you are tanking, and you are not built for that.
- Corruption, Curse of Agony, Siphon Life: dot everything, drain it back. Multi-dot two or three mobs and drain-tank them all at once once you trust your gear.
- Drain Life: your sustain. Damage that heals you is the most efficient mechanic in leveling.
- Healthstone and Soulstone: free healing and a self-resurrection. Use the stone proactively on hard quests, not after you are already dead.
Warlock weapons and gear
Wands early, then stat sticks. Your dots do the work. Prioritize stamina (you convert health to mana with Life Tap, so a bigger health pool is a bigger mana pool) and intellect. Do not chase spell damage gear while leveling; save gold for your mount at 40.
Best professions for Warlock
Tailoring + Enchanting: you wear cloth, you make cloth, you disenchant the rest. Herbalism + Alchemy for potion income. First Aid as always; even Warlocks bandage when the dots are ticking and the drain is on cooldown.
Warlock leveling tips
- Life Tap converts health to mana; Drain Life converts mob health to yours. The loop is: tap, dot, drain, repeat. Master it and you never stop.
- Multi-dotting is your XP multiplier. Two mobs dying at once beats one mob dying fast.
- Fear is your panic button, but it makes mobs run. Use it in open areas, not near other packs.
- Keep Soul Shards stocked. Farm them before dungeons and hard quests, not during.
- Test the new talents. With 23 new ones, the beta is the time to find broken combinations. That is half the fun of playing Warlock in Forever right now.

Affliction, Demonology or Destruction for leveling?
Affliction. Demonology is fun but slower; Destruction drinks constantly. Affliction's efficiency is unmatched.
Is Warlock hard to play while leveling?
It has more buttons than Hunter, but the pattern is simple: pet tanks, dots tick, you drain. An hour of practice and it is second nature.
