Common Priest talent questions
New to the lingo? A spec is the tree you spend most of your points in. A rank is one level of a talent. DPS means damage-dealing.
How many talent points does a Priest get?
You get 51 talent points at level 60. Your first point comes at level 10, then one more each level. The planner above counts your points as you click.
How many Priest talents are in the beta?
53 in the current beta build. They are split across Discipline, Holy and Shadow. Each talent is counted once, even if it has more than one rank. Turn on Compare to Classic above to see which talents are new or changed.
What is new for Priest in WoW Forever?
13 so far. Turn on Compare to Classic above and they are marked purple in the tree. These talents did not exist in Classic.
Which Priest talents are new in WoW Forever?
Power in Light, Twin Disciplines, Holy Precision, Soul Warding, Penance, Renewed Hope, Divine Aegis, Binding Heal, Litany of Light, Prayer of Mending, Improved Mind Flay, Devouring Contagion and Early Demise. These are the new Priest talents. They did not exist in Classic. The rest are Classic talents, but some have been changed.
Where do I spend my first 5 Priest points?
Put them in the first row. Only the first row is open at the start. Common picks are Power in Light and Wand Specialization in Discipline; Twilight Focus and Improved Renew in Holy; Shadow Focus and Blackout in Shadow. More rows open as you spend points in the tree.
Did Priest lose any talents during the beta?
No. Every Priest talent from earlier beta builds is still around.
Which Priest tree should I start with?
Shadow is the usual solo-leveling starting point; Holy and Discipline make more sense when healing is the reason you are grouping.
Should I level as Shadow?
Yes. Shadow kills faster than the healing trees and barely drinks. Wand your way through the early levels, then Mind Flay everything after.
What does Penance do?
It fires a volley of holy light at one target, dealing damage to an enemy or healing an ally over 2 seconds. Quick burst healing or damage that feels cheap for what it does. It sits deep in Discipline and pairs naturally with Power Infusion.
